Whilst the battery and amount of RAM found in each PSP console has changes as they have evolved, the MIPS R4000 processor has remained constant throughout, and will not be changed in Sony’s latest budget offering.
The three original PSP consoles had removable batteries, allowing gamers to charge several batteries and to simply swap them over when they ran out of battery power away from a power source, but the PSP Go had a built in battery that could not be changed.

The first four consoles have had wireless connectivity, with the latest budget offering losing the wireless technology in the interests of keeping production costs down. The PSP Go also came armed with Bluetooth for head to head gaming with other console users within a 10m range.
